What’s around ?

PLAZA is an app that allows you to take part into the social life of the place where you happen to find yourself in. It notifies you when other users are around and engaging in public activities. It allows you to interact with their posts or post your own content.

You can see PLAZA as an extension of the real world that can put you back into interaction with your neighbourhood.

You can post anything, ranging from a generic hello and availability to grab a beer, to local annoucements of selling, buying or what not. Text, photos and soon videos.

Unlike most social networks, PLAZA focuses on the nearby activities of the place where you happen to be and allows you to find interesting people and events around you. You’re done with what’s happening on your particular street? Move over a few blocks away and be a part of another plaza. PLAZA can quickly get very addictive.

Unlike hookup apps, on PLAZA the interactions are generic and encourages all kinds of human interactions, also including but not limited to sexual. PLAZA introduces a level of indirection which is natural to human socializing: instead of directly asking a girl on a date, you can attend an event, propose an exchange or a social happening. You can do business, you can socialize, you can meet people. On on PLAZA, you don’t poke people directly: you publicly interact with their posts as you would normally do in a public space. If and when a friendship is established, you can also use PLAZA as a regular messaging app.

Unlike maps apps that focus on local businesses, PLAZA is motored by people and social interaction. As such, some of the actors can be established cafes, restaurants, cinemas, event organizers but not exclusively.

Unlike some messaging apps that allows you to interact with people around you, PLAZA protects privacy by forbidding direct pokes. You can only interact with geolocated posts people choose to make public while individual location is never directly communicated to other users.

Summary

PLAZA is a new way of doing social networking which places proximity at the center.

Every post on PLAZA is pinned to the precise geolocation of its creation. It can only be seen in that area and within a few hundred meters around. You can post and interact with other people’s posts. As for your friends, you can message them directly.

Platza shows you posts around you that can have actual impact on your life.

Existing social networks take your friend network and expose it to public judgement and scrutiny. They show you posts of people at the other end of the planet. Platza goes the other way around: it allows you to grow and reenforce your relations, be it business, personal or casual right where you are. Or just offers you the possibility to say hi to somebody around.

It’s like having a small village, or a piazza. Within that small community, you can see everything people choose to post.

On holidays resorts, concert places, business or research conferences where people go to make new acquintaces, PLAZA can be a great and valuable tool.

PLATZA is all about proximity.

Platza allows you to interact with people and businesses around you. In the precise place where you happen to find yourself in.

Touring companies, event organizers: with Platza, you can locally broadcast to all your event attendees. It’s that simple.

PLAZA can also be a very valuable live database of global local events.

Use this app to create links, do business and build social engagement. And, maybe, why not, find the courage to say hi to that girl 🙂
